Scub Dive Instructor Course
Open Water Dive Instructor

Learn to be a Scuba Instructor the "SSI Way." Most instructor programs focus only on teaching diving. However, most dive businesses require much more of instructors than merely teaching. The SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) prepares you to become an active member of the scuba industry, a successful educator, and a valuable dive business employee.

Your training includes:
  • Techniques for recruiting, teaching and evaluating students
  • The SSI Education System and Education Philosophy
  • How dive industry stakeholders interact (manufacturers, media, agencies, retail and travel)
  • How successful dive retailers and resorts operate
  • Effective techniques for teaching in the pool and open water
  • Legal aspects of teaching
  • The basics of educational sales using SSI's Customer Loyalty Cycle
  • Why SSI Instructors are More Marketable
  • SSI Instructors possess business knowledge that instructors from other agencies don't. The expanded course content of the SSI ITC gives you an edge over "teaching only" programs and makes you a much more valuable, well-rounded employee.
  • SSI Instructors represent the best of both worlds. You are trained to use the award-winning SSI Teaching System and you are trained to be a skilled educator.
  • SSI Instructors are able to conduct the Universal Referral Program. This program allows you to complete referral dives through six different agencies: IDEA, NASDS, NAUI, PDIC, SSI and the YMCA. This is particularly valuable to resorts that receive customers affiliated with various certification agencies.

What Else Can You Teach? Open Water Diver Passport Diver Program Try Scuba Scuba Skills Update Scuba Rangers (after completing the Scuba Rangers Instructor training) SSI Authorized Scuba Schools and the New Instructor

When you work for an SSI Authorized Scuba School, you are teaching in an established scuba school with experienced instructors. They can assist with your first few courses and they have a wealth of knowledge to help you progress.

Already an Instructor and Just Need to Crossover? SSI has a convenient crossover program for instructors affiliated with recognized agencies. Our premise is that since you are already an instructor, you only need to learn how SSI's Teaching System and Education Philosophy function.

Nitrox Coures

Nitrox Course

The Nitrox Course is designed to teach you to dive with Enriched Air Nitrox blends between 22% and 40%. It is a lecture only class that will allow you to enjoy the advantages of diving with Enriched Air Nitrox. Enjoy longer bottom times, less fatigue and stay warmer while doing it. Have you ever dreamed of having longer no-decompression limits to take pictures or explore a wreck? Did you ever want to be safer while diving concerning the potential risk of decompression sickness? Nitrox is the key. Due to the reduced fraction of nitrogen in your breathing gas, your body will have less work and the desaturation times will be reduced. In your ENRICHED AIR NITROX program you will learn all the necessary rules for planning dives with Nitrox and using Nitrox in a safe way. An important key point in the entire program is analyzing your own tank prior to any Nitrox dive. "Nitrox for free“ is a slogan in a lot of resorts. This means that you do not have to pay a surcharge for Nitrox, but all diving operators will want to see a valid Nitrox certificate before you can dive. ENRICHED AIR NITROX contains optional dives and therefore it is a perfect “Winter Specialty” before your diving holiday starts. This will allow you to go diving immediately and enjoy the advantages of diving with Nitrox.

Advanced Nitrox Course

Advanced Nitrox Course

This Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use Enriched Air Nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 to a depth of 40 metres/130 feet during dives hat do not require staged decompression. Often taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career. Advanced Nitrox is also a great course for those wanting to extend their bottom times in shallower depths such as scientific diver, and a must for SCR or CCR divers. The course covers
topics like

Equipment requirements
Dive planning
Oxygen tracking
Blending methods

You will use the TDI Advanced Nitrox Diving manual for your course, which explains in an easy to understand practical manner the complex information that Advanced Nitrox divers need to know.
